COLBY..MY BEST FRIEND

I met COLBY when he was just 4. He had beautiful dark hair that shined in the sun. His Eyes were deep brown .

He would take walks with me almost every day. The cool winter and the warmer spring we're his favorite times.

He loved looking for Honeysuckle and clover. Of course so did I. He would run and drop and roll in the grass giggling with that youthful laugh.

One day I went to meet him but he wasn't there yet. So I feel asleep on the soft grass and feel asleep. I started dreaming about that little boy running around and laughing.. I could see him very far away.

As I started to awaken I felt hair brushing my face. I reached out to welcome my friend.. but as I woke and looked around.. I didn't see the boy COLBY.

To my dismay, COLBY Was a beautiful Arabian stallion nickering at me. The hair that I felt was his mane in my face. I stood up and he ran towards me . He stopped and rolled in the grass , taking a bite of the grass , he walked to me and put his head on my shoulder. He was a handsome grey with a long black-silver mane and tail.  I loved him until he died in April of 2005. He was my best friend. I could tell him anything and he never shared our secrets.

I miss him dearly and think of him often running in that grassy field . Run on my friend ..Run on .
