Cold Lies and Sad Goodbyes

I hate cold lies
And sad goodbyes,
But life can sometimes deal you those.
No matter what
You think you've got,
It can be bogus, I suppose.

I loved you dear,
And held you near,
But I was never in your heart.
You led me on,
And then were gone;
It seems you planned it from the start.

How could you be
So cruel to me,
When I had shown you love so true?
You had your fun,
Then chose to run,
And left me wondering what to do.

I hate cold lies
And sad goodbyes,
But such things are your stock in trade.
You lied to me,
And now I see
I've well and truly been betrayed.

I hear you, my friend. Those cold lies and sad goodbyes can really hit hard. It's tough when someone you cared about didn't have the same feelings in return. Feeling betrayed and hurt is completely valid in a situation like that. It's important to remember your worth and that you deserve honesty and genuine love. Take your time to heal and know that you're not alone in facing these challenging moments.
