A Gift of a Thistle

Left alone
Entangled in the truth of life;
Fate is not for us to determine
Only partly, until stars collide

As sand is tossed over his corpse
I find myself melting in my burning grief
The tower of my strength
Merged into dust
Is now property of a thief

A gift of a thistle
Remembered me once more
Life is not to hate, but to adore
I blink my eyes and see
Yet a new lover
Is standing in front of me…
