Behind The Chutes In Del Rio

He grew up on his daddy's ranch, and
all the girls wanted their way with him.
She grew up on her daddy's horse farm, and
all the boys were trying hard to court her.
Once, he saw her race her horse in Sante Fe,
then she saw him win the money in Cheyenne.
He wanted to speak to her
before several cowboys swamped her
with famished hearts.
She saw him waving in the distance
with a smile upon his face;
she smiled back in amusement.
They finally met behind the chutes in Del Rio.
She was brushing down her horse
when he limped up
from being bucked off his draw.
Ten years later...
they raise children, horses, and cattle
on their ranch;
remembering how they met at the rodeo.
