Electroencephalogod

I once read an article in Scientific American
where they did a study
and found that epileptics
showed a higher response rate
to words with religious connotations.

What exactly that proves, I've yet to decide.

But I know about my own study.
My quest to find an explanation
for years of spells, dismissed as daydreams.
And I know that when the doctor
announced his verdict, the words hung,
crucified by thick summer air
and the silence of disbelief.

I became a martyr.
