take another close-up look
at yourself in the mirror.

Paint your face vivid colors, exaggerate a frown,
place a cherry on your nose,
pretend to be a clown.

Laugh at the nonsensical, chuckle at the absurd,
smile at the farcical
that all around you gird.

Ridiculous behavior confronts you everyday;
decide to grin and bear it,
there is no other way.

Taking life too seriously leads to rigidity;
bending with prevailing winds
prevents fragility.

The universe of the mind you can objectify.
Altering your attitude
encounters rectify.
