I Wish.

I wish people were like me.
Waking up at dawn and appreciating the creator
Looking up the sky and watching the sun rise from its slumber
Looking ahead into the day and planning on what to do.

I wish people were like me
Making hay while the sun shine, and thinking that ev'ry second lost is a blow
Watching other people and imagining their sorrows
Helping in what way i can to lighten their burden

I wish people were like me
Trying to respect other's wishes despite all our differences
Hoping they too will understand
And praying for a brighter future

Oh! how i wish people were like me
Watching the moonlight replace the sunshine at twilight
Sitting in my backyard and counting my blessings
Praying that tomorrow should be a better day.
