In my native land of flourescent sun and gentle rain,
Of fertile hills and plains and verdant mountains, and
Of deep-blue seas teeming with fishes and pearls,
He was the most beloved hero on the 'big screen'-- ever.
The all-time undisputed box-office king, revered as
Everyone's 'kuya,' a good neighbor, and
To anyone that came his way--in need of a helping hand,
Anytime of year, he was a Santa...a true friend.
And such a friend was he, so loved and respected that
He became King in the hearts of all his 'kabayan,'
He so endeared and embraced in his own. ...
He was affectionately called "Da King,"a name
Befitting not just the kind of heroes he played
In all his movies, but for the artist he was, as a Filipino.
Never ever out of touch, he lived a truly
Exemplary life, a life devoted to fearing ang believing
God and, to harmoniously living with fellow man...
No matter the station in life.
