Into the Void, Act I: Fall Apart, Chapter 3 - Cast Aside

Thrown, he grinds into soot
The shards of the blackened memories found.
Groaning, he lifts up his foot
To see her pale imprint impressed in the ground.

He must have a reason for this....

Downward, Spiraling aimless
He reaches only for the bottle of gin.
Drowning, thought himself blameless,
While all the loathing simmered within.

He must have a reason for this....

Pushing off, pressing onward.
Seems these days are getting longer.
Defy the odds that I'll survive
Try and hold on through the night.
Until the end, I'm gonna fight
Until I see the morning light.

You're reaching, you're reaching for it
Grasping, you're grasping at straws.

Reaching. You're reaching.

I used to write a lot of poetry when I was a little kid, but eventually lost interest as I got older. I started writing poetry again as a form of art-therapy during a really hard time in my life. I like to try to experiment with different styles and strange metaphors. Understandably, this can make some of my poetry less accessible at times, but occasionally I feel like it pays off. more…
