Lightning flashes it doesn't stay long,
Thunder it booms its forces are strong,
Rain falls to nourish the ground,
Strange the difference in vision and sound!

Take the time to stand and stare,
Ponder the complexities of cloud and air,
Thousands of volts fascinating to see,
Dazzling moments with current running free.

Silence it whispers until the next strike,
Everything vibrates like an upturned mike,
All that energy wasted and lost,
