Winter's Domain

 Like a thorn in a sky full of starlight
 Ominous as a cloud full of rain
 Twilight may never consume me
 Though I rumble and bellow in pain
 You cleaved my enclosure with kindness
 Forsaking the whiffs of my snow
 Lacking compassion I thundered
 With the violence I've known
 Pure as the deeds of your presence
 Like the mornings who dwell in their hope
 You gave when all in my pleasure
 Took it all in my self-serving scope
 All the while the wounds I inflicted
 Bore themselves in my mind
 While you where off in your intrigues
 As I grew more un-confined
 Within the void I created
 To shun the light of your day
 I cursed you for all my mis-leadings
 Knowing I was the one whom betrayed
 The bond that in the beginning
 Drew me to your warm flame
 Yet in time I grew in my Winter
 Where the hoarfrost calls its domain
