"JK's Journal" by Anil Deshapande, Mumbai.

JK’s Journal

And on one day I happened to read, a book named JK’s Journal;
Although mortal he might be, his thoughts are eternal.
Death is everywhere, yet you don’t want to live with it
Do whatever you may; no one can escape from it
The wish is strong of living in this world;
With all sorts of insult, pain and hurt
Understand thou though, you aren’t hurt;
The image of yourself is hurt.
Attachment brings sorrow, the cause of worry
Knowledge breeds authority, an endless misery
Pursing out knowledge and acquiring nothingness
Is the only path for contentment & happiness!
Avoid you therefore, only the head’s poisoning;
And free yourself of all sorts of conditioning.
Love knows no violence, hatred brings wars;
Wars never end in peace, they leave behind only scars
Invention of intellect can’t ever anyway be bought;
Peace for example and yet wars are being fought!
Listening is an art, but let be it with attention;
Silence also you listen, a simple way of meditation.
Direct experience of the self within, not only the told;
Be a light unto yourself, you are the world!
