Through Hollow and fallen leaves.

After the festive autumn dance
And sumptuous banquet.
Just make it by horse.
Through the leaf strewn
Path to the Bridge.
Then risk passes.
The whip poor will
And nighthawk
Again sound benign
If not beautiful.

But what do we hear
Out back?
A maniacal whinny.
A deep threatening yell.
And grizzly laugh
The smash of
Candled pumpkin
On hardened Terra firma.
It's him.
Diabolical.
So let us hasten
You old Nag!
The bridge, the bridge.
Rare midnight occasion
For this Schoolmaster.
