The Bay

Suzy walks by the bay
Step by step, she follows the waves
drawing her closer as they sway
As if they were alive, asking her to follow them to the place they go to play.

As she gets closer, she hears them say,
You are our friend, follow us, so we can play for days
In fear, Suzy runs away
hoping the horrible nightmare of going back home fades away.

But no matter where she goes, “home” will be there in every way
Her fears keep her up during the day and night
With no intention of going back to the days by the bay,
Suzy later realizes that every home has a bay.
