A snow tree Inside the square

Free verse
A snow tree
Inside the square
Nighttime
Snowy
White poplar
Snow-fish patterned
white then gold
Light from the windows
the flock
leaves in a dark
underwater thicket
illuminated by a submarine beam
they tear the ice
from the heart
with their lips
to immortalize
their heaven
slow snow sunflower
in the heart of the
Underwater Tree
Then gold then white
A symbol
of formless suffering
