O Cego Oriente

Distante paisagem, meu cego oriente
procuro teu ar nos cortantes lábios,
vendo meu soldo a favor de teus gládios
e busco meu abrigo ao sabor do vento.

Tira-me deste inconsequente páreo,
tira-me deste previsto acidente!
Luto contra a rendição decadente
e a indução que enche meu cálice diário.

Mas perduro entre as grades deste templo
nas dores inúteis de meu salário,
nas obras miseráveis que sustento

para fugir deste parco cenário
onde reina o servo-mor do dinheiro,
onde vem do amor um mal necessário.
