You

Y O U

It is late
My eyelids should be taking camp
My breathing should be on low tide
I can't, I know it is late
But these thoughts I cannot hide

It is late
I am slowly approaching rest
But then I feel the caress of your scent
A promise for another day
" I'm still here" is what it is trying to say

I know it is late
But your eyes are like sunrise
Elevating light into my mind
Darkness decomposed, happiness regenerating
It is always you and that is frightening

I accept that it is late
Although the night has grown old
Fading like the fear inside me
"You entice me" is what I finally know
Scary maybe, but exciting... Definitely

My sleep is late and the day is born
But now I see two beautiful views
Sunrising behind me and your...
Your eyes
You're next to me, my fellow muse

My heart beat is never late
To speed through every moment with you
My breathing will always rush in currents
Just in time to crash with yours
This... I can never be late for this
With you
