Apples

The sun was shinning brightly,
On this October day.
The Apple tree was full in bloom
In a delicious kind of way.

I reached up and picked one,
Then shinned it nice and bright.
I raised it to my mouth
Then took a great big juicy bite.

I picked a bunch of those Apples
I put them in my shirt.
I took them home to Mom,
In hopes of a good dessert

Mom made breaded pork chops
With a side of buttered noodles
After dinner she placed before me
My own delicious apple strudel.

About this poem

I wrote this poem for a 7th grade project. 7th grade was a long time ago. I submitted this poem to poetry.com years ago. The opportunity was there to make it public and publish it in the “poetry.com” book. I was never able to make that’s happen. However I am not in 7th grade anymore and I can still recite the poem. The two people that influenced me and made this a thing possible are dead and gone. My mother and my oldest brother. I got an A+ on it and I will never forget it.
