THE DREAM
The dream was as saccharine as it should have never been.
Though it sounded amusing yestreen,
I wasn't unperceptive of the disquieting morning.
Hallucinating her presence felt so soothing.
There she was, the godhead I had always adored, revered.
I felt myself levitating with the wings of exultation.
I was dreaming the dream which I had often dreamt to dream.
But afterall, it was just one of my dreams.
The vulturous actuality was lingering to encompass me.
The mist of reality began concealing her.
Could I endure her obfuscating physiognomy?
Was I robust enough to come to terms with barbarous reality?
Or had I turned oblivious to the incessant agony?
I wasn't heedful to what reality had in store.
I couldn't even imagine to care about actuality.
I had just lived the dream which I often dreamt.
She was a pleasing affliction, sweet but tragic.
