Beginnings

If I could go back in time to the beginning,
Before fate toyed and played upon my feelings.
Before my heart was ever torn and broken.
Before I built the walls where I remain hidden.

Things could have been so different now,
But fate is cruel and would never allow.
The scars and pain have taken their toll,
And broken me so I am no longer whole.

If I could ask one wish from whoever’s in charge,
That I live the rest of my life where lies are barred.
Where my quest will have led me to my soul mate in life,
And happiness will guide us through the star filled nights.
