Christmas Dream

As Christmas Eve rapidly approaches,
I search the heavens for the star advancing.
The Christmas Star shining ever so brightly,
Signifying the magic of Christmas has begun.

Wishes are granted, and happiness reigns,
As I lie here and wonder what Santa will bring.
As I drift off to sleep my mind starts to dream,
Of you and I together in a fantasy scene,

The house is aglow with Christmas fare,
A brightly lit tree, stockings hung with such care.
As we sit by the fire we watch the flames dance,
Our gifts for each other were not left to chance.

I give you my love for all the days of our lives,
You will hold it in your heart till the end of time.
We spend all our hours enjoying our time,
As sure as I am this scene is limited by time.

As I stir in my bed and the chill fills the room,
I find myself waking leaving fantasy for gloom.
As I rub the sleep from my time weary eyes,
I whisper Merry Christmas my bestie, you’re the love of my life.
