HAVE IT ALL~

HAVE IT ALL

LIFE KEEPS ROLLING ON JUST LIKE THE SEASONS
WE’VE ALL GOT TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE REASONS
SO I’LL BE MOVING ON… ITS JUST MY TIME
IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU’RE NOT FOREVER ON MY MIND

ONCE IN AWHILE, YOU GET THE FEELING
WHEN YOU KNOW YOU’RE TIRED OF DEALING……WITH IT ALL-
WHEN YOU’VE GOT TO TAKE A MINUTE
LOOK AT YOUR WORLD AND WHO’S IN IT…….AND MAKE THE CALL~
TO HAVE IT ALL

WE’RE TOLD NOTHING’S EVER PROMISED
AND LIVING UNDERCOVER IS NEVER HONEST
SO THOUGH I’LL LOVE YOU TILL MY TIME IS DONE
I NEED TO FIND MY LIGHT, AND SING MY SONG

ONCE IN AWHILE, YOU GET THE FEELING
WHEN YOU KNOW YOU’RE TIRED OF DEALING….WITH IT ALL-
WHEN YOU’VE GOT TO TAKE A MINUTE
LOOK AT YOUR WORLD AND WHO IS IN IT
AND MAKE THE CALL~ TO HAVE IT ALL
I’LL HAVE IT ALL

April, if music and poetry be the food of love, give me excess of it, so that in quaffing it, I shall forever remain divinely youthful, seeking more. Thank you for your superb lyrical talents.

Great work. like the flow and the theme is universal. Superb. If you get the chance, could you comment on one of my poems?

The last stanza is the center of the poem, but what does it mean to have it all here? For in truth no one can have it all in life.
The diction is simple but the poem says a lot.

The size of the text has no bearing on the expression....as said before musicians often write lyrics in caps to make recording easier....easier to see...simply.....nothing else behind it...

Is this also lyrics for one of your songs? I write poetry and I write songs. I have tried to turn my poems into songs and vica versa but it doesn’t work for me.

      - Yes! it is lyrics! And people are having fits over it being written in caps....almost every musician I know writes in caps for rehearsals....just makes it easier....

-What a useless, ignorant comment...hope you get the same kind of response to your poetry....then you'll get it...

The speaker talks of time to move on as if to close a chapter in her or his life, but one is not clear about what is the real world of the speaker and to whom this is, in fact, being addressed.
A poem with much to say, but no specific center as to what is really going on underneath the language.

Your poem is written well, great rhymes and flow. How brave of you to step out, to step toward, to step away. You already have it all- sometimes it hurts.

This is a poem. How I know it to be. Why many younger people don't go for it. It doesn't have a straightforward meaning. Fine work.

The meaning behind this poem is great, and why not have it all?
