Last man standing

We met through a mutual connection and I instantly became your fan
Time passed and each moment with you just made it clearer that I want to be your man
I know you're still hesitant toward me because of the scars of your past
Nothing else I can do but give you time & space and hope that we will last so...

That I can be more than enough then just an option in the near future
I want to be the main feature in your long line of suitors from your brochure
Someone you can be proud to show off to the world and tell people you're off the market
To be the reason you're smiling again from the person you're trying to forget

Takes as much time as you need because you're worth the wait
Just as long that I'm not just a booty call after our session or a play date
I see the potential for something greater through those cloudy eyes of yours
The doors are already unlocked so whenever you're ready... step in I'll give you a tour

You already got the keys to my kingdom the moment I laid my eyes on you that day
Sure there are plenty of fish but once in a while someone comes along...
Takes you on a ride and makes you feel something unusual (kind of like a jester)
The difference is I'm not playing around when I say I want to be serious with you as a lover

Not like anyone before me that came and gone from your life trying to get to your throne
Am I worthy to be granted access? or perhaps cast away to the depths below to the unknown
I'll never pressure or forced my way because ill be a sure-fire way to fail to crash landing
Id like to continue our way from what we have now and hopefully maybe one day...

Be the last man standing
