Wrapped Up In You

Deep in your arms I find peace and belonging
To lean into you is where there is no wronging
Warmth of your heart and the sound of that beat
This is where I’m protected and you make me complete.

As I yearn to breathe once more deep in your arms
In this place I know I will feel safe from harm
Each breath that I take gets slower with you near
I could not do this without you right here.

As one last thought leaves my mind
This thought leaves me yearning as it is unkind
As this tear leaves my eye and runs down my cheek
In this moment your warmth makes me feel not so weak.

This world can be so dark and uncaring
But the warmth of your chest I love you for sharing
When life makes me feel so hollow and blue
I know I found solace wrapped up in you.

Chris? 'Wrapped Up In You'...is brilliantly written. From beginning to end. Yes! Within your expression so much you allow to confess just how you feel. After MANY years of my own poetic writings, I am only recently unpeeling to reveal what it is deeply felt. Easy I've become to realize isn't easy. Thank you. L
