He did believe that Jesus died
To save us all from sin.
In fact, he said all day he cried
When Jesus came within!

But soon the glow of faith began
To slowly disappear,
Despite believing in the Man
Who taught to all, "Don't fear!"

He gave up church and praying too;
No Bible time for him.
It seemed like things that he would do
Made faith in God look dim.

And yet somehow, he did believe
That Christ died for his sin,
But God is sad when we achieve
No sign of love within.
