Addiction

From the very first time I  had took that first hit,
You became that monkey on my very own back.

From then you had became my best friend name ADDICTION,
As the years had gone by you had slowly dug you claws into my back.

Many times I have tried to shake you off of my back,
The more I did the stronger your grip you had on me became.

For many times I had thought that I had finally won the battle of addiction,
Right after the moment I felt victory you had came back stronger with a vengeance.

You steady laughed in my face reminding me that you were here to stay,
The day had came for me to be the one to have the final laugh when I once and for all got rid of you for good
