Introverted Soul

Alone I sit, in a world of gray, The colors of life seem far away. A weight upon my chest, heavy and deep, I try to breathe, but can only weep.

My mind is crowded with thoughts so bleak, No light in sight, no solace to seek. The silence of my heart echoes loud, A deafening sound, my spirit is bowed.

My days stretch out, endless and bare, The weight of existence, too much to bear. The world outside seems foreign and strange, A place of joy, beyond my range.

I long for connection, for love and care, But fear and doubt, my heart does ensnare. In the depths of my soul, I am alone, A prisoner of my mind, a heart of stone.

Oh, how I wish, for a moment of light, To break the darkness, to end the night. But hope is fleeting, a distant dream, A specter that fades, in the darkest scheme.

So I sit, in my world of gray, With nothing to do, but wait and pray. That one day, the light will shine through, And my heart will heal, and my soul renew.

Hi Steven, Thank you for sharing your poem. It has a sense of melancholy throughout, as if the writer is searching for something more. If this relates to you, I hope you do find that something special.
