Your All I Need, But You Need Me Not

In the quiet corners of a crowded room,
Where shadows dance and whispers loom,
I find your laughter, a melody sweet,
Yet in your eyes, I feel the retreat.

You are the sun that lights my day,
A beacon bright, come what may,
But as I reach for your warm embrace,
I sense the distance, the empty space.

Your smile, a spark that ignites my soul,
In your presence, I feel whole,
Yet like a ghost, I drift unseen,
A fleeting thought, a forgotten dream.

I watch you chase the stars above,
With every heartbeat, I fall in love,
But you’re a wanderer, free and wild,
While I remain the longing child.

You paint the world in colors bold,
With stories of adventures yet untold,
And I, a canvas, waiting for your touch,
But you need me not; it hurts so much.

I gather moments like fallen leaves,
In the autumn air, my heart believes,
That one day you’ll turn and see me there,
But you’re lost in a world that doesn’t care.

I’m the echo of your laughter’s song,
The silent witness to where you belong,
Yet in your journey, I’m just a pause,
A fleeting thought, a moment’s cause.

You chase the dawn, I linger at dusk,
In the shadows, I find my trust,
But trust is a fragile, delicate thread,
And I fear it will break, leaving words unsaid.

I dream of days where you’d hold me tight,
Where love would bloom in the soft moonlight,
But you’re a comet, blazing through the night,
While I’m a star, wishing for your flight.

Your heart is a garden, wild and free,
With blooms that flourish, but not for me,
I’m just a weed in the cracks of your path,
A fleeting thought in your aftermath.

Yet still, I cherish the moments we share,
The laughter, the glances, the love in the air,
For even if you need me not,
In my heart, you’re the treasure I’ve sought.

So I’ll stand in the shadows, a silent guide,
With love that’s deep, though you’ve never tried,
For in this world, where you roam so free,
You’re all I need, but you need me not,
And that’s the bittersweet truth of me.

I’ll carry your essence, a flame in the dark,
A flicker of hope, a lingering spark,
For though you may wander, and I may stay,
In the tapestry of life, you’re my thread of gray.

So here’s to the love that’s unreturned,
To the lessons learned and the bridges burned,
For in this dance of give and take,
I’ll find my strength, for my own heart’s sake.

You’re all I need, a beautiful thought,
But you need me not, a lesson hard-fought,
And in this paradox, I’ll learn to be free,
For love is a journey, and I’ll find my way,
Even if it’s without you, just me.

This is one beautiful piece of work. I could use a vote once in a while people just view.

You should stick to reality, storytelling doesn't exactly fit you. You can rhyme with time, word after word- it all falls to the floor as if speaking to a door- words spoken being left unheard, speaking to the wall- falling upon deaf ears, where else to go but to fall onto the floor? They crash, they shatter, was this not the disaster you asked for? Once back in reality, touch base, maybe that's where you'll find me. Once a speaker, always a speaker, maybe you should just try listening. Then you'd hear words that were actually said, instead of words that you just make up in your head.
