Tick, Tick Away

The silence is loud, my feelings are gone. The air makes me drown, my heart is a stone.
Focus on the tick, tick away its life. It wont go forever, but until the battery dies.
My heart feels so cold, my mind is at rest. Lay my body in dirt, let me fly where it’s best.
My soul is a bird, soaring through the clouds. My mind is a bog, but without any sound.
The sound of the frogs, all cluttered with thought. My heads going fast, but won’t ever stop.

About this poem

A dark and gloomy state of mind leads to the deep focus on the ticking sound of a watch and deeper though rises into the head space of this individual.
