Writing of An Ocean of Pain

In the hush before dawn,
when shadows linger
and whispers creep,
I stand—drenched in memory,
a fragile vessel adrift.

Each wave a ghost, familiar yet distant,
crashing against the shores of my heart.
The saltwater stings; each droplet carries
the weight of unspoken sorrow—
the farewell left unsaid.

Beneath the surface lies a depth uncharted,
where dreams sink like ships forgotten;
their sails torn by storms unseen.
The horizon blurs—morning light taunts me with hope,
but here I am—a mariner bound to grief.

I watch the tide retreat and return;
it mirrors my lost embrace.
This ocean swollen with longing—
every swell a heartbeat that echoes still:

You are not here.

And yet you linger in every ripple seamless:
in laughter caught on wind’s breath,
in fleeting moments wrapped within dusk’s veil.
Your absence unfurls within me like seaweed tangled deep,
each frayed edge tugging at memories brittle.

Time dares to erode even solid stone, but this ache—
this relentless pull—you’ve carved it eternal
into sand and sea glass glimmering on empty shores.
My cries dissolve into froth that kisses tidal pools,
wondering who will hear them now?

Still I search for solace beneath yawning skies;
beneath weighty clouds pregnant with rain's lament –
for an anchor amidst waves vast as silence can hold:
Whispers between currents lead back,
yet never forth—the cycle spins endlessly.

So I float upon this ocean of pain,
half-fading star alone in its depths
while stars above twist quietly away from Earth—
how punishing their distance draws lines across time!

But somewhere amid these waters fierce and full,
there lies promise nestled in brine:
that love such as this may fracture soft soil anew;
an oasis perhaps where life thrives between tides—

Where shadows once danced will find light again
and carry your name through gentle springs.
O Heart—I release you to live
within every breaking wave, to emerge unrestricted

An eternity stitched together by ache and grace alike-–
as we navigate our oceans’ open wombs someday unified
beneath suns yonder dreaming bright without end.

Until then—I remain
adrift among mournful currents—seeking shore
where your voice might call back home
from beyond all seas remembered .
