The taker

The Taker

There once was a taker so bold,

With pockets lined in silver and gold,

He'd take without care,

Leaving hearts in despair,

Leaving scars that never fully heal.

His eyes, they gleamed with greed,

Taking all that others would need,

With a voice like a snake,

He'd made his promises,

Using lies to sow his dark seed.

He took it with a smile on his face.

Leaving emptiness in his place,

No remorse or regret,

Just a thirst to get,

Taking more than he could ever embrace.

But one day the tide did turn,

And the taker's fire did burn,

For all that he took,

Came back like a book,

To remind him of the lessons he must learn.

So beware the taker so sly,

For the price of his taking is high,

His treasures will fade,

Leaving only a shade,

Of the man who thought he could fly.

A haunting portrayal of insatiable desire and selfishness, where a person's actions leave a trail of emptiness and hurt, driven by an unquenchable thirst that consumes and destroys.
