Petals of Yellow

[Icelandic Haiku]

Petals of yellow
Fall softly down to the ground.
Each one breaks my heart.

Swaying carelessly,
They catch a light breeze and dance.
A soft reminder.

With time, they change hue.
Once bright yellow, now are brown.
Death is all too real...
