Monster

I have a monster that lives inside of me.
A demon just trying to breathe.
Lucifer whispering very mean things.
Of being hurtful, I am the queen..

The regret I feel goes very deep.
It's like I'm drowning in the sea.
And at Night I just can't sleep.
It's been so long, I no longer weep.

When I hurt the demon loves to play
He says hurtful things to get in the way
I wish to push or keep him at bay
But without help, I can't control what I say..

When jealous, The monster thinks it's lots of fun
To aim, fire, then hand me the gun
And after everything is said and done
I have another bruised soul on the run..

Lucifer is just a name, you see
Because he knows he controls me
As I write on paper with pen
He's on my shoulder whispering sin.

I love being happy, I love to smile
It just seems I truly haven't in a while

They laugh, they giggle like little girls
Except they're running my mental world
I just want their words to dim..
But I just can't seem to suffocate them..
